Lead Removal

Vapour Blasting/Wet Blasting is an environmentally friendly and effective method

for lead paint removal. Similar in production rates to sandblasting, vapour blasting uses compressed air, water, and many media types but produces 95% less airborne dust and uses 50% to 70% fewer media.

Vapour blasting offers safe and highly efficient ways to remove lead coatings and paints. The system allows the operator to adjust media flow, adjust the compressed air and even blast with compressed vapour only.

Another advantage of vapour blasting, especially for heritage restoration, is the ability to blast at very low pressure. While low pressure reduces damage to the substrate, removal rates stay high. Lowering the pressure and blasting at an angle can achieve higher removal rates than direct blasting. The flow effect produced by water vapor passing through extends the blast effect at the nozzle.

Hazardous Material Encapsulation Or Containment

If removal is not possible or a feasible option, our IICRC & COR Certified Hazmat Containment Specialists apply polyurea coatings and linings to the areas and effectively seal hazardous materials like mould, lead, formaldehyde insulation, and asbestos so that they cannot leech into the air.

While modern construction, building materials, and coatings do not contain hazardous chemicals, older structures can still pose serious health risks to you and contractors. We recommend having your property tested by a certified Hazmat Containment company, like Quantum Industrial Solutions, before beginning any repair, renovation, or demolition projects. If harmful substances are identified, our hazmat abatement technicians can help determine the safest way to remove, contain, or encapsulate them and provide you with a superior hazmat abatement service.
